The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. has announced that Eric P. Bieberich will serve as the 72nd president of the organization for a one-year term starting January 1, 2025. Bieberich will lead the Board of Directors of the association, which has been in existence for 95 years and is based in Madison, Connecticut, USA.
Bieberich is the president of Fort Wayne Wire Die, Inc. located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, a role he has fulfilled since 2013. He brings 24 years of experience in the wire industry.
Having been a WAI member since 2001, Bieberich joined the Board of Directors in 2016 and the Executive Committee in 2021. He co-chaired WAI’s 2024 Conference Programming Committee and acted as the executive committee liaison for the Memorial Awards and Oversight Committees. Bieberich holds a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering and an M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University, as well as an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Expressing his enthusiasm about this new role, Bieberich remarked, “I am thrilled to promote the association’s mission to be a vital and invaluable resource for the global wire and cable industry. The launch of Phase One of the Education Center is particularly exciting, highlighting the dedication and effort of the association’s volunteers and staff in developing a state-of-the-art training resource for future generations.”
The Wire Association International, Inc. operates under a global network of volunteers. Joining Bieberich for the 2025 term are members of the association’s 2025 Executive Committee: First Vice President David M. Fisher from James Monroe Wire & Cable Corp.; Second Vice President Rebecca Cranford from Southwire Co.; Raúl García Martínez from Viakable; and Immediate Past President Daniel Blais from Prysmian.
Fort Wayne Wire Die, established as a family business in 1937, specializes in manufacturing precision tools using materials such as diamond, tungsten carbide, and other extremely hard materials. The company operates facilities in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany, China, and the Philippines and serves the global wire and cable market with a broad network of representatives.
Founded in 1930, WAI is a nonprofit association that includes 1700 members across 38 countries and has subscribers to Wire Journal International in 94 countries. The organization supports the educational needs of the wire and cable manufacturing sector through a range of products and services. WAI organizes the Interwire Conference & Trade Exhibition and Wire Expo and publishes the Wire Journal International and the Wire Journal International Reference Guide.
