LS Cable & System, Jan De Nul, and Denys have been awarded a letter of allocation (LoA) by TenneT for the delivery of cables for the BalWin5 grid connection project in the waters off Germany.
This document pertains to the production, transportation, installation, and testing of 525kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) cables for BalWin5, which is a part of TenneT’s “2GW Program” that is currently in the planning stage.
The LoA encompasses both offshore and onshore 525 kV HVDC power cables, linking an offshore converter station in the German North Sea to a future onshore converter station in Bremen, Germany. Before receiving this LoA, on December 10, LS Cable was tasked by the Dutch-German transmission system operator to supply 525 kV HVDC power cables (both offshore and onshore) for the LanWin5 grid connection project in Germany.
